Open android app with custom url

edited February 2015 in Android

Hi everyone, I am trying to open my test app from chrome browser like this.

Then, from browser, I open like this.
Webview://

It can't be open unless I use this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.naosim.urlschemesender

So, I change to this code and test again. It is not working.

According to this link, we can't directly open like that for new browser.
https://developer.chrome.com/multidevice/android/intents

So, I follow their url format and open again on my S4. It is not working either.

Testing

May I know how to do? I have attached my project here as well.

    What is your URL to open your app? You need to add that URL as host in the intent-filter.

    For example, to handle all links to youtube.com, you'd put this inside your in your AndroidManifest.xml:

    <intent-filter>
    <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW"></action>
    <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"></category>
    <category android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE"></category>
    <data android:host="www.youtube.com" android:scheme="http"></data>
    </intent-filter>

    I have tried with that bro. It is not working on my phone. I have tried that method together with this method described in this link. It is not okay yet. https://developer.chrome.com/multidevice/android/intents. I have uploaded sample project to here. http://www.mediafire.com/download/btbazqcltxpw4ee/Webview.zip
    If you are free for a while, can you please test with my sample project?

    @KhantThu ,

    Please try to change like following

    Your code is

    <intent-filter>
        <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />

    </intent-filter>

    <intent-filter>
        <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE" />
        <data android:scheme="Webview"></data>
     </intent-filter>

    You are using 2 intent-filter and try to put in one.

    Your are using Webview for scheme. Please try to use small case only. Yesterday, I tried in one of the project and Capital letter is not working in my phone. After changing all the small case , it's working fine.

    <intent-filter>
        <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />

        <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" />
        <category android:name="android.intent.category.BROWSABLE" />
        <data android:scheme="webview"></data>
     </intent-filter>

    You need to link

    webview://

    In your browser app or website. In Android, you can't type webview:// in your browser. It will open google.

    So, try to use with sample link in your website or web app.
